Clever Kitchen Upgrades

Kitchen upgrades have been on your mind. Especially since you’ve seen your friend’s brand new kitchen. The center island, the open concept, all of it left you feeling like your kitchen could use a little spruce. But as you think about what you could do with your kitchen you start feeling overwhelmed. What options should I choose? How do I decide what to do? Or, maybe you couldn’t come up with much. You know your kitchen could use upgrades, but you’re not sure what.

If this sounds like you, don’t fret. Below we’re going to go over several kitchen upgrades to choose from.

You can easily repair any nicks and cuts your butcher block gets.
Just sand it down and reapply mineral oil.

Butcher Block Island

If you’re looking for a way to cozy up your kitchen, consider a butcher block island. You can use it for food prepping like chopping veggies or kneading bread doughs. If the island has storage underneath it, you can store extra kitchen tools like your stand mixer and the like.

You could even put seats on the other side of it so you can chat with friends while you prep. The best part about a chopping block is that any nicks you make in it can be sanded away. Just be sure to reapply some mineral oil after sanding to keep it shiny and new.

Pot Rack

Do you have a lot of pots and pans? They can be a great help in the kitchen but a bit much to store. One clever kitchen upgrade you can try is to use a pot rack. You can get one pre-made from the store and with a few S hooks, you’re good to go.

If you’re not a fan of the pre-made stuff, you can get a little creative and make your own pot rack out of pipes. You can go with PVC pipe and paint it funky colors, or go with copper for a fun steampunk look. Pot racks are a creative way to store pots in the style you want.

Paint Kitchen Cabinets

Have you ever walked into your kitchen and thought it could use a little sprucing up? It happens to us all. We keep our kitchens as clean as possible, but sometimes we can’t shake the feeling it needs some upgrading.

But as you think about all the kitchen upgrades you want to do, you realize you don’t have the money for it all. So how can you make your kitchen feel like new without spending a bundle?

Try repainting the kitchen cabinets. You can find a color that ties into the rest of the colors of your kitchen, or you can choose a color that stands out. Whatever you choose, it’s a simple and inexpensive way to update your kitchen.

You don’t have to change up your kitchen all at once. You can do it piece by piece as needed.

Change Up Your Sink

The best thing about kitchen upgrades is that you don’t have to do it all at once. You can do it little by little.

If you want to upgrade your kitchen and don’t know where to start, take a look at your sink. If your sink is looking like it’s seen better days, it might be time to upgrade to something new. You could go with a large farm sink for that country feel. Plus, you can put that farm sink into your center island to save space for the countertop.

Pull-Down Faucet

While we’re on the subject of sinks, it might be time to upgrade the faucet. One way to do that is to consider a pull-down faucet. The bonus of a pull-down faucet is that you drag it down in any direction to clean off plates before putting them into the dishwasher.

You can also use it clean off many hard-to-clean parts of the sink like the corners. When it’s not in use it can be retracted back for a simple and clean look.
